Welcome Industries is the design practice of Pam Daniels and Brandon Williams.  We work in Chicago as designers, entrepreneurs, and educators.

We have a unique role as designers in residence at Northwestern's Segal Design Institute, where students can engage with our design practice located on the ground floor of the design building on campus.  We also teach courses including introductory human-centered design, industrial design, and UX design, and host a wide range of workshops on newer digital fabrication techniques and prototyping.

Our process involves hands-on building and often takes inspiration from the materials themselves. We enjoy the full span of design activities from conceptualization to prototyping, to creating brand identities and partnering with manufacturers to bring new products to market.

We also offer design thinking & innovation consulting services to help organizations rediscover their ability to create new, better outcomes. In March of 2017, we brought Kate Garmey on board to expand our capacity in this area.

Pam & Brandon met while pursuing masters degrees in design innovation at Northwestern University.  Brandon has a background in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Master of Science in Engineering, Design & Innovation. Pam has a background in user-centered design, marketing and innovation and has served in senior roles at IDEO and Starcom/Leo Burnett.  She holds a Master of Science in Product Design & Development. Pam is a co-founder of the not-for-profit DesignHouse Chicago where she and Brandon were collaborators as well.
